Synthetic Grass - Artificial Turf - Putting Greens - YourTurf Drainage

Drainage is one of the most important factors when considering artificial turf and YourTurf prides itself on having superior drainage compared to the rest of the industry.  YourTurf's backing is 40% permeable which allows water and other fluids (i.e. urine) to drain through quickly to the natural soil.  Many of the products available on the market today have the "punched hole" back technology.  Unfortunately, the punched hole products don't let all liquids drain down to the natural soil (including urine).  If the fluid doesn't make it over to the punched hole, it sits there.  That is when the foul smells start to take hold, especially if it hasn't rained in awhile.

YourTurf's drainage rate on its artificial grass products has been tested at 105 inches per hour - this rate is three times faster than the majority of turf products available on the market which have a "punched hole" backing, and therefore a drainage rate at about 30 inches per hour.  YourTurf's synthetic grass drains so well because we use a patented permeable backing as part of the EnviroCel backing that we include in the design and manufacturing of our product.  The EnviroCel backing is an environmentally safe backing that simultaneously drains well.  Much of the backing available with other products continues to consist of the not so environmentally friendly polyurethane backings.  The EnviroCel backing is 60-60% "green" by weight - that is, nearly two-thirds of the components of the EnviroCel backing are environmentally correct products.  This replaces over 90% of the petroleum based polymers with bio-based polymers derived from domestically grown soybeans, which is a renewable resource.  Every yard of EnviroCel installed means increased soybean production, which helps improve air quality by consuming CO2 from the atmosphere.
